Upcoming events in Brazil
During the week of February 6-12, most of the entrepreneurship news in the Brazilian market involved the Campus Party activities. The 5th edition of this event took place in São Paulo and gathered over 7,500 attendees (the “campuseiros”) with hundreds of activities from lectures, panels to a startup reality show promoted by Sebrae and Aceleradora (Like a Boss).
For the next weeks, you should check those two events out.
Last year I have attended a panel organized by Endeavor, where 10 startups were selected to pitch for a panel of investors. After organizing this smaller panel and talk with the market (including Innoveur) to get some feedbacks, Endeavor has just launched the first edition of the Innovation Panel, that will place on March, 15 in Rio de Janeiro.
The organization will select 10 startups to pitch their businesses for local and international investors, accelerators and specialists. Fernando Reinach (Pitanga Fund) and Ozires Silva (Embraer’s founder) are confirmed speakers.
The deadline to apply is February, 18. For additional information and to apply (free), visit the event’s website.
CIEE (a center for schools and companies integration) is promoting a lecture about “Angel Investing and how it supports entrepreneurship” by Cassio Spina, leader of Anjos do Brasil (Angels of Brazil, an association to foster Angel Investing in Brazil). Each attendee will receive a copy of his book Investidor Anjo: Guia Prático para empreendedores e investidores (Angel Investor: practical guide for entrepreneurs and investors).
The event takes place on February, 28. Visit here to apply (in Portuguese).
