Pulso Startup 10 is looking for the 10 best startups in LATAM
All startups based on Latin America can still apply for Pulso Startup10 (PS10) until January, 9. The objective of this online contest is to shine a spotlight on early stage technology companies in the region.
The winner team will be sent to NYC with all expenses covered by Pulso Social to pitch his/her business for investors and the local press.
The requirements for participating are the following:
- The startup should be based in Latin America.
- It should have been founded less than three years ago.
- It should have a functioning product with potential to create real impact in the global marketplace.
The startups will be judged according to:
- Entrepreneurial vision, by Cristián Lopéz (Executive Director of Asociación Emprendedores de Chile) and Alex Torrenegra (Entrepreneur and winner of PulsoStartUp 2009).
- Potential growth and impact of the business, by Cate Ambrose (President and Executive Director of the Latin American Venture Capital Association – LAVCA) and Pedro Torres Picón (Founder and Managing Director at Quotidian Ventures).
- Technological innovation, by Andrés Martínez (Developer Program Engineer in O2 Uk [00], BlueVia @ Telefonica O2 U) and Juan Pablo Buriticá (front and back-end developer / Lead Engineer at @panelfly / Founder of @bogotaconf).
Milestones
- December 21, 2011 – Calling starts
- January 9, 2012 – Application deadline
- January 15, 2012 - Announcement of the initial 20 selected start-ups.
- January 15 - 24, 2012 - Online voting for the best 10 startups, according to the community.
- January 26, 2012 - Winner announcement.
- February 2, 2012 - Award Ceremony: the winner team (2 team members) will pitch to investors and press in NY, at Quotidian Ventures
