Unicamp Challenge 2011 - Mentoring starts this week
Just after the Startup Weekend Campinas, started the mentoring activities for the Unicamp Challenge 2011 last Monday.
The mentoring program is a volunteer work to support and motivate the entrepreneurial action during the challenge. The mentors contribute sharing their time, knowledge and networking to guide the teams, mainly in the hands on tasks.
In the best scenario, the teams will have two mentors: a market oriented (an entrepreneur or investor) and an academic (a professor or a grad student involved with the chosen patent or technology).
Each mentor will help one or two teams with 2 to 5 members during 5 weeks. Throughout this period, all teams will have to produce a viable business model for the chosen technology and interact with the real world, getting out of the room to test their models.
The best 6 teams will have 2 extra weeks to tune their business model with the support of the mentors.
The final will be on July 19, 2011 at CIESP Campinas (the Industry Confederation of São Paulo State – Campinas’ chapter).
